Given the millions of worldly portals, the growing number of simulation tools, the course resource possibilities, and the thousands of possible online course openings, it is small wonder many people in the world have options. There is so much to know that many give up or simply do not start to experience in this world. Some may venture slowly inside or take "baby steps" as actor Bill Murray did when assuming the role of Bob Bobby World, a highly open obsessive-compulsive man, in the 1991 hit movie, What about Bob?. His psychiatrist, Dr. Leo Marvin, better known as actor Richard Dreyfus, got him on the path to worldwide openness. For all the problems that batter at us day and night, this world is still open. The world suffers from severe economic problems and global warming. The world suffers from overpopulation and water pollution and famine. The world of learning and education are perhaps surprisingly the one area in which there is extensive optimism and hope. This open hope pervades many of the chapters of this worldly book. Education underlies any chance for solving global world problems. Education makes the opener economic world of Thomas Friedman possible. Education has found its day.
